Chimney Cricket, Inc. – Where Family Makes the Difference
Chimney Cricket Inc. was established in 1989 and incorporated in 1993. Its owner/operator, Phil Taggart, has been in the chimney business for over 35 years. His background in fireplace and chimney construction has given Chimney Cricket, Inc. the ability to take on complex projects that many chimney sweeps are not willing or able to take on. He even built some of the chimneys his company now services.

Phil began chimney sweeping in 1991 as a side business. Soon after, however, his “side business” blossomed into a full-service company with a fleet of service vehicles and offices in a beautiful historic building in Springfield. His wife joined the company in 1993 as well as his son, Gregory Taggart who continues to work alongside him. His daughter, Rebecca, has joined in the sweep and construction work at times over the years and now manages the office part time.

Our technicians are more than certified sweeps and skilled masons. All of our technicians share a passion for their work. They love the challenge of troubleshooting problem chimneys and greatly enjoy the art of restoring masonry chimneys, and it shows!
